Georgia, Interviews, & Harvests!

Hello again friends and family!

It’s crazy to believe that it has been just over a year since I have returned from my World Race, and what a year it has been!

Coming off the field after living in constant community and constant ministry for 11 months, I knew the year ahead of me was going to be a tough transition…and it was. As soon as the western luxuries such as a bed, a hot shower, and Chipotle wore off I found myself searching to be challenged again. Asking the questions:

How am I going to continue to challenge my faith?

How am I going to seek my Father clearer in the everyday?

How will I choose to pursue Him in this new season?

Proving yet again His faithfulness, the Lord provided this year in ways I would have never asked for. I decided to move back to VA in which He provided a place to live, a roommate/now best friend, sweet community, a job, a group of freshman college girls to disciple, an incredibly wise woman to disciple me, and lesson upon lesson of His goodness and truth.

Around October I was given an opportunity to start working at Orange County High school as a Spanish teacher. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew God wanted, yet again, for me to step into the unknown. It was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, but one of the greatest lessons I’ve ever received. Christ taught me about the necessity of seasons. How we need to understand the “necessity of seasons of rest and barrenness to their fruitfulness of their spring and their harvest”.

It was through this year that I remembered a prayer I prayed on my race:

“Lord lead me into uncertainty so that I may rely more on you than the world I am about to face”

I prayed that before my race, during my race, stepping into this year, and I pray it now as I have stepped into a new season. A season, I believe, of fruitfulness and harvest.

As of mid July I have started working for Adventures in Missions as part of the admissions team for the World Race, Gap Year, Passport, and Ambassador trips down in Gainesville, GA. More specifically I am an interviewer. I have the privilege of being the first interaction with our applicants. I introduce them to the values in which our organization operates in: listening prayer, feedback, and discipleship. I work with applicants in order to assess the applicant’s ability to be successful on the field in light of their past challenges and struggles all while opening the door to vulnerability and community by sharing my story with them.

My team makes determinations regarding fitness for the field and make recommendations as to next steps for applicants when necessary. We get to serve applicants well by leading them towards greatness and growth so that they are positioned to move forward in their relationship with God in the context of any of our trips. I also have the opportunity to be a part of training teams during our Training Camps as we prepare participants to head out to the field.

Yet again, in fulfillment of His faithfulness, I have stepped into newness and have felt Gods presence ever so steady.

That is all He wants for us. To remain close to Him trusting the unknown is known by Him. I am beyond thankful for how I continue to learn and grow. It doesn’t have to do with what country I’m in or what job I have. It has everything to do with being all in with Jesus and pursuing Him.

As part of this season of working for AIM I have to support raise part of my salary. It would mean so much to me if you would join me once again as part of my support team through prayer and financially. My first deadline is October 1st as our fiscal year ends, but my monthly goal through the year is $600 per month.

Would you prayerfully consider becoming one of my monthly supporters?

I will be sending out newsletters and would love to include you! Thank you for reading and being a part of this journey. You are a true blessing.

With love,

Ana
